Afternoon of Yoga

Spring Shine – Refresh & Renew

Sunday 13th April 2025: 1pm – 4pm

£20

(Payment in advance required as limited places are available)

There is nothing quite like spring. The sun emerges out of the wintery shadows; the earth blooms with colour and expansive energy; and in what seems like an instant, the world opens back up to the idea of fresh starts and new beginnings.

If we listen closely, our bodies receive nature’s message on physical and subtle levels. The physical body asks for renewal: to release and detoxify stored heaviness from winter.  The mind urges you to learn something new and explore different directions than before. The spiritual-self moves you to align with earth’s blossoming energies by envisioning and deciding on how best to move forward into a desired future.

This time calls for the setting of intentions—in other words, deciding what is important to you. After the internal and reflective winter months, Spring is the time to get focused and moving, active and motivated, for everything that is to come. We want to set out on this journey with a readiness to grow, transform, and awaken our utmost potential =)

New beginnings are the first step toward awakening your fullest potential. Come along and enjoy an afternoon of yoga to feel light, awakened, motivated, and free in your body, mind, spirit, and soul.

Opening with a calming mindfulness Meditation accompanied with Pranayama (breath work) to energise you and cultivate a sense of physical, emotional & spiritual well being. Followed by a  gentle slow flow to generate heat, detoxify and feel renewed.  We will then take a break with some light refreshments. Then slowing down with a seated session and longer held postures to relax & work more deeply into our flexibility.  Finishing with a lovely long “yogic-sleep” (Yoga Nidra) guiding you into a deep relaxation, leaving you refreshed.

Place: German Church, 29 Great Horton Road, Bradford, BD7 1AA

Open to all (including beginners).  Limited places are available so booking is essential.  Props for the restorative session, including bolsters and blankets, will be available to borrow at the session (but bring your own if you have them).

To fully unwind and unplug, this session will be in-studio only.

You can book by clicking the button above or you can pay next time you’re in class.  Any questions?  Email yogabradford@gmail.com

Afternoon of Yoga

Fold into Fall

Sunday 19th October 2025: 1pm – 4pm

£20

(Payment in advance required as limited places are available)

I absolutely love this time of year; watching the daily changes in nature, the beautiful colours of the leaves, the crisp fresh air and the feeling of cosiness as the night’s draw in.

Autumn is a season of change and transformation, letting go and taking stock. Unlike summer where a lot of our energy and focus are directed outward, autumn is the season to turn inwards, to wonder and reflect. Just as the trees lose their leaves in autumn so we must let go of anything we no longer need, whether that’s clutter in the house, an attachment to summer, negative thought patterns or old beliefs that are no longer serving us. By letting go we create the space to welcome in the new. This will be the theme of the Autumn afternoon of yoga where we will slow down, nurture and rest so we can embrace the season of change and nourish our body and mind.

The afternoon will open with a calming mindfulness meditation accompanied with Pranayama (breath work) to settle you and develop a sense of physical, emotional & spiritual well being.  Followed by a gentle slow flow to build a little heat and release tension.  We will then take a break with some warming vegan refreshments.  Then slowing down even more with supportive and nourishing restorative yoga to relax & unwind. Finishing with a lovely long relaxation guiding you into a deep rest.

Place: German Church, 29 Great Horton Road, Bradford, BD7 1AA

Open to all (including beginners).  Limited places are available so booking is essential.  Props for the restorative session, including bolsters and blankets, will be available to borrow at the session (but bring your own if you have them).
